The growth performance was supported mainly by the improvement in domestic demand and robust exports performance, particularly for E&E products. Growth was also supported by the continued policy measures. The imposition of the Second Movement Control Order (MCO 2.0) and the continued closure of international borders and restrictions on inter-state travel, however, weighed on economic activity. The committee said in its Covid-19 daily update that the decision was made to limit the celebrations to only one day after taking into account the current pandemic situation in the state. “The Sarawak Islamic Council has agreed to amend its standard operating procedures (SOP) for the Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration, which is, open house visits will be allowed only on the first day and for close family members,” said SDMC.
